Typical calculation packages cover:
- Steel beams and columns - openings, wall removals, extensions and flat conversions
- Timber design - floor joists, rafters, purlins, flitch beams and trimming around openings
- Load-bearing wall removals, including padstones and bearing checks
- Foundations - strip, pad and raft design, and foundation checks for extra load

What you receive
A clear calculation package: design loads, member checks, specified sections and bearing details, ready for submission to Building Control. Where the job needs it, we add marked-up drawings or sketches so your builder knows exactly what goes where. If Building Control raises a query, we answer it - that's part of the service, not an extra.
What we need from you
For most domestic calculations: your architect's existing and proposed drawings (or clear sketches with dimensions), photographs of the affected areas, and a description of what's changing. From that we can quote a fixed fee. Where something on site is genuinely uncertain - what a wall is made of, what's under a floor - a short inspection sorts it before the design is finalised.
